MAT/HAT/AA Training and practice
Also known as "flying boom-boom practice".

Disclaimer

Generally speaking this will be an attempt to make a MAT/HAT/AA training and practice and it's more or less a trial. For this reason I'd like the people who sign up to know that there is a non-zero chance of it sucking. That said I think it will be fine and you'll be forgotten as brave pioneers of MAT training.

For the reason of this being first training of this kind I'll be running I'm limiting RSVPs to 8 people (4 couples, read below) and I will adjust amount of people for future sessions accordingly.

Weapons Covered

  • M3 MAAWS (Carl G)
  • SMAW
  • RPG-7
  • BAF Javelin system
  • Stinger
  • Igla

In other words most commonly used launchers.
Expect everything from shooting M3 over long distance to practicing with RPG-7's tandem projectile at 250 meters.

Topics and procedures

We'll go over a short intro of these launchers and proceed straight to a firing range where you'll be able to engage various armored and unarmored targets at various distances with various types of missiles.

What will be probably very interesting feature for people is that we'll be employing AT teams structure - you'll split into couples where one is the rifle/launcher operator and the other is his assistant. After a bit you'll of course switch the roles.
In short, the gunner's job is to aim, zero and fire. The assistant's job will be to accurately range the target, ensure backblast area is clear and reload the launcher where applicable.

After we'll go through the launchers I'll be giving you targets for practice with possibility of splitting the couples so everyone can start firing away.
