15-April-18 Prophet Training Session (NA)

N.B. This session is predominantly for those in NA, specifically those on the West Coast as my usual training sessions would start at 0600 for them. As such, please do not sign up for this unless you're in the GMT-7 to GMT-4 range of time zones. Times shown in the event are placeholder times, this will take place after the 1st main mission and on the second server so you'll be able to play a game on the day.

Capping RSVP (Regs+) at 4 (FOUR), most likely will not take in any more than 4 due to time constraints. If FNGs are interested (or Regs+ if RSVPs are full), you can leave a comment and, if there are no shows or time allows for it, I may bring you in, but don't count on it considering the earliest this will start at is 0400 for me, depending on mission length.

Topics Covered

  • Basics
  • Roles available and responsibility
  • Zeroing
  • Equipment

Intent

  1. Theory: generalized/shooter thingamabobs
  2. Shooty shoots at pre-placed targets (practice)
  3. Theory: spotter thingamabobs
  4. Take turns as Shooter and do the shooty shoots on a simulated objective (Sniper eval)*

*Not compulsory to stay if you don't want to do the shooty shoots yet and want more practice on your own. Can also leave if you're already done with yours (or you can stay and watch as the next guy misses all his shots). N.B. that "failing" this eval does NOT bar you from any further evals, it just means you'll have to do it again some other time.

So it seems I’m supposed to be waking up and doing stuff literally at the original end time of the event (your Saturday afternoon).

Now, while staying up for the session is wtv for me, I do kinda wanna get some sleep. As such, I’m gonna have to postpone the session by 24 hours, same conditions.

Therefore, session is going to be on your Sunday afternoon after the first main mission. If you’ve got plans or wtv for that time, cance- I mean. Lemme know.

what NA time zone is this in?

None. It’s just for those in the GMT-7 to -4 range, anyone in the Americas: North, Central, or South. If you’re asking what time zone the event is scheduled for, the time that shows in the event is always in your local time. So if you were on the West Coast, it should show a 1300 start time. East Coast, 1600. For me, it’s 0400. (Yes, I am literally staying up for this. I’m not sleeping until after the session.) This applies for all events on the calendar.

Norway =/= NA. Last I checked, GMT+2 is not in between -7 and -4. I'm already rarely, if ever, going to do that many more of these sessions, making it nigh impossible for NA people to do it, since my usual sessions start at 0600 for them. Be a bit more considerate and actually let those who are almost literally unable to attend my usual sessions attend one that is specifically scheduled for them..

@Rorkiyfucks sake i have wanted to get in a prophet session since forever but sure

If you really have been waiting for a long time then I’m truly sorry.

However, when there’s literally no record of you ever expressing interest in it to me, no Discord messages, no forum inbox, no RSVPs for any of the previous sessions, no forum posts saying my usual training time doesn’t work for you, or even comments on any of the previous Prophet events asking to be noted as showing interest, when there’s literally none of that and then you’ve RSVP for a session that’s specifically for people in the Americas as they physically cannot make my usual sessions, it comes off as very rude to them, and to the event creator, even if it’s not me.

And if you actually have been trying to get into a session for a long time, then actually show some indication of it because right now there’s fuck all to back it up, and I’m not saying that to be mean.

I have been actively looking at the calendar to try to get in prophet. I try not to be annoying, as i would perceive it and obnoxious. So I just click in exited when there is a prophet training and hope not all rsvp are taken. I also see if 1 or more has written to fill in. If yes I go cry in a corner basically
