In a recent meeting report we mentioned how we were going to create some events with different ArmA gamemodes during 1st main time, to see how they are received. This is the first of those. 

 

What is Liberation?

"The area has fallen to the enemy, and it is up to you to take it back. Embark with your teammates on a persistent campaign that will span several weeks of real time to liberate all the major cities of the area."
You and your allies will be fighting against AI and you will try to take positions and cities from them, while repelling enemy attacks on your FOBs, cities and positions. 

 

For this event there will be a small set of rules and some roles will be slotted beforehand with tags. Everyone participating will be required to stay for 2 hours and may only leave with proper reasoning given to the superior.

 

Rules:

  1. Always listen to your superior. Be it in setup or during the mission.
  2. Do not switch roles during the mission. Medics stay as medics and pilots stay as pilots.

 

Organisation and Flow:

Organisation will be left to the slotted Platoonleader and the Platoonsquad. Logistics will be done by the slotted logistics drivers and pilots, following the orders of the platoonleader (or whoever is going to be designated for the job). The camo will be called by the Platoonleader. Adjustments may be made by SLs after getting permission from the Platoon leader. After spawning in everyone will go to an FOB determined before slotting. Everything else will happen from there.

The following will only be slotted if enough people are present to fill out all the other slots and squads

We are not. CAS should be able to provide enough support. However I am gonna say, that if more than 47 people show up, we can slot a KNGT crew

Will it be on the current lib map?

If yes how about the people that play daily on it and made tons of progress but don't havae tags for a slot?

they can go make some more progress with the armoured assets when the server is not being used at main time.

It will be on whatver map is up at the time (I am not aware of the progress right now)

I'll be taking sergeant/an edition slot, so I can run Zeus in the background to ensure things continue are running cleanly

It’ll probably be a new file so I’ll put a slot In for game master/admin :)

I sadly can't join, but let me know if anyone's streaming it, since I'd love to see what Liberation actually entails!

Maybe Lets get a 2nd driver for logi instead of pilot :_( if not gib 2nd squad engineer please

I will most likely be in charge of logistics and support so Silber can focus on command.

though there are specific roles listed, expect that the job description of all people in logistics will basically come down to "log boy"; we'll need people to move stuff, I don't care how. 

though I'd like to have at least 1 experienced pilot to handle the chinook (which I'm assuming will be our responsibility until an FOB has been established), I don't really need any rotor aces to do hot LZ pinnacle landings or precision CAS strikes; if you can fly a bird from A to B at a relaxed speed through friendly territory without crashing, you're good. if not, we'll get you a nice truck instead.
