EVENT SUMMARY: 

This event series will not begin until @Jerichron's Stellaris series ends. This date may shift based on that.

This is meant to be a fun, relaxed, RP event among friends, not a competitive match. If you are incapable of playing Stellaris in this fashion, you will be ejected from the game. Builds deemed to be "meta-gamey" will be ejected from the game. If your presence actively harms the overall fun of the event for other people, you will be ejected from the game. There is a zero tolerance for violation of the rules of the event, if you are found to violate them, you will be ejected from the game.

This will be a heavily themed event based taking place in the highly acclaimed Real Time Strategy game Stellaris, in which players will seek to guide their own nations on the path Galactic Exploration, Discovery, Commerce, Diplomacy and Conquest. However, to prevent some of the typical issues with Stellaris multiplayer games, there will be some guidelines for behavior in the event to assist with the flow of events.

Different from previous series is that co-operative play of an empire is allowed. You are allowed to have one person play co-operatively with you in your empire, subject to approval by the event host. 

Empire submissions will open up 2 weeks before the event start

READ THIS CAREFULLY:

Nations are being broken up according to government type to ensure a balance of government types and playstyles within the game session. There will not be the same amount of each type available. Only a certain number of each type of government may be made and details will be filled in once each player has created their nation and filled in their details. The amounts available are as follows:

x2 of either machine intelligence or hive mind

x3 mega-corps

x9 of any of the types democratic, oligarchic, dictatorial, or imperial

This gives a total count of 14 available slots.

++EVENT RULES++

General:

  1. There will be a ten minute break after every 50 mins of play. If players fail to return with a 5 min grace period after breaks they will be removed from the session.
  2. No METAGaming, Pregame Alliances, or Exploits.
  3. The Host in order to retain the ability to host the game may have their capital taken by domination but may not be eliminated from the game. If the host has clearly lost they will refrain from pursuing victory types and will concede if it is clear they have lost.
  4. All players are required to play on the same Difficulty settings.
  5. Nation details must be finished before the event date to help speed up the start process. 
  6. If another player posts their Nation details in full and reserves it before you have finished posting yours, their reservation will take precedence.
  7. One change to players Nation may be made before the Event Day following which Players will be required to play their Nation as listed on the Event.
  8. Players if deemed necessary due to game balance must accept modification to their Empire prior to the game and during to ensure a fair experience to all players (Changes may be but are not limited to, Caps on Naval Size, Science Output), Vassal Limit). This event is not intended to be a dedicated competitive match.
  9. If a player takes the virtual ascension tradition tree, they are limited to 25 planets total.
  10. Event host maintains final discretion on whether or not you will be allowed in to the event. Previous circumstances such as inconsistently showing up for events, demonstrated inability to RP, inability to self-limit, or poor behavior will prevent you from being allowed to participate. 
  11. If you are unable to maintain a stable connection and/or cause consistent desync, you will be booted from the game

Mechanics:

  1. Players until encountered may not discuss with each other their location in game.
  2. Players are not allowed to destroy other player's nations before the the Galactic Senate is formed.
  3. Federations may not exceed three Empires in membership. Association status is not restricted, though non-RP mega-bloc forming is discouraged. Federations must be formed from  relatively close Galactic neighbours
    1. For example, if one player's empire becomes increasingly antagonistic towards the galactic community, a mega-bloc of a federation and its associates may form to declare war and end the threat.
    2. Basically, try not to form space-NATO unless you have an RP reason to.
  4. Only two player may make use of the Become The Crisis Ascension perk Whether the old crisis path or the new one. The event host however must first be messaged of a players intent to make use of this gameplay path and may be told by the host if they can or cannot depending on if another player is already doing so. The host may not act with any indication of awareness of if an Crisis player exists in the game until the knowledge is discovered by other players.
  5. Crystal-Infused and Crystal-Forged Plating is not permitted.
  6. Proton Launchers / Kinetic batteries are not permitted until after the year 2250.

Can I get some clarification on the new rule? I assume it was added to prevent some specific behaviour but it not clear what it prevents that isn't already covered by jeri's rules.
