    BLUFOR APC/IFV Fire Control Systems

By colt92 for the FK community.

    ARMA3 version: 2.04.147719, RHS version: 0.5.6, 3CB BAF Vehicles version: 10.0, BWMod version: 2.3, Redd'n'Tank Vehicles version: 1.12.173

While most don’t really require an entry, they have still been added for documentation purposes. Similar systems have been grouped up for simplicity.

    1. M36E2 (M1117 ASV)

    2. CROWS (M1220 CROWS, M1126, M115A1 CROWS, M1238A1 ASV CROWS, M1239 AUV CROWS, M1245 CROWS, M1247 CROWS, FV432/3 Bulldog HMG-RWS, Panther CLV GPMG, RG31 Mk. 5E Nyala, M-ATV, Wiesel 2, Nemmera, Fennek)

    3. Integrated Sight Unit (M2A2ODS, M6A2 Linebacker)

    4. Fire Control Software (M2A3)

    5. Vanilla FCS (Pandur II, FV510 Warrior, Badger IFV)

    6. WOE PERI Z95 (Luchs 2A2, Marder 1A5, Wiesel 1A4)

    7. Puma RCT FCS (Puma IFV)

    1. M36E2 (M1117 ASV)

The scope has a mixed rangescale which is marked with hundreds of meters. The left hand scale is for the M2, which ranges up to 2Km, and the scale to the right is for the GMG, which ranges up to 800m. Bear in mind that the M2 fires at an angle from the right, and the GMG fires at an angle from the left.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Acquire range.
    2. Adjust range by aiming with the space where the line of said range or the closest one to it meets with the central vertical line.
    3. Fire.

    2. CROWS (M1220 CROWS, M1126, M115A1 CROWS, M1238A1 ASV CROWS, M1239 AUV CROWS, M1245 CROWS, M1247 CROWS, FV432/3 Bulldog HMG-RWS, Panther CLV GPMG, RG31 Mk. 5E Nyala, M-ATV, Wiesel 2, Nemmera, Fennek)

    10.thumb.jpg.54028070728dc22c0e30a53aeed8a8c4.jpg

These three systems have a laser rangefinder and an aiming reticle, with two of them also including, elevation, magnification and gun position indicators for added flavor.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Aim the cross reticle at your target.
    2. Press “T” to range (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action).
    3. Wait for FCS to calculate corrections.
    4. Fire.

You do not need to readjust for TOWs. They will follow the centre point of the reticle/circle.

    3. Integrated Sight Unit (M2A2ODS and M6A2 Linebacker)

    4-1.thumb.jpg.52a3ab6c735c495a138c37dbe91cd2e1.jpg

    4-2.thumb.jpg.86f1efb563252a9f141e98797e2c9503.jpg

The zoomed out view has just a cross sight, but the zoomed in view has an optical rangefinder for 2.7m high targets.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Aim the cross reticle/circle at your target.
    2. Press “T” to range (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action).
    3. Wait for FCS to calculate corrections.
    4. Fire.

Re-adjust every time you switch ammo types.

You do not need to readjust for TOWs. They will follow the centre point of the reticle/circle.

    4. Fire Control Software (M2A3)

    5.thumb.jpg.550d413e72017cfb0821ae155c926950.jpg

This one is quite simple. You have your aiming reticle, your laser rangefinder indicator and your turret and commander camera orientation indicators.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Aim the cross reticle at your target.
    2. Press “T” to range (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action).
    3. Wait for FCS to calculate corrections.
    4. Fire.

Re-adjust every time you switch ammo types.

You do not need to readjust for TOWs. They will follow the centre of the reticle.

    5. INDFOR Vanilla FCS (Pandur II, FV510 Warrior, Badger IFV)

    7.thumb.jpg.06ee10e35f799ef9a38b417c3692690a.jpg

    8.thumb.jpg.e6ac7e44a7fafe45167e235c346b585e.jpg

In this system you are provided with a gun elevation indicator, a navigational compass with the turret’s and commander camera positions relative to the chassis, a speed compensation indicator and a laser rangefinder.

The system will automatically compensate for your target’s speed, but you will need to re-range or manually compensate if that speed changes.

*The Pandur II’s Spike ATGMs have two different firing modes, direct and top down attack. You must select the mode you wish to use by cycling through the weapons and fire modes with “F” (or any button bound on the “Next weapon” action). Additionally, these ATGMs feature a lock-on, fire and forget system, although you will need your target to give off a thermal signature for it to work.

    1. Select one of the two ATGM fire modes.
    2. Press “T” (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action) to start locking on your target (an open diamond will appear over it).
    3. Once the lock-on is complete, you will see a closed diamond.
    4. Fire.

You may also dumb fire the ATGMs on both firing modes with them working as intended.

    6. WOE PERI Z95 (Luchs 2A2, Marder 1A5, Wiesel 1A4)

    6.thumb.jpg.182f2352e84cb1016e3922e8c78a29df.jpg

This system provides a navigational compass with indicators of where the chassis, turret and commander camera are pointing to, plus another positioning indicator to its right. Below it you have the aiming reticle with the laser rangefinder indicator.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Aim the cross reticle at your target.
    2. Press “T” to range (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action).
    3. Wait for FCS to calculate corrections.
    4. Fire.

    7. Puma RCT FCS (IFV Puma)

    20210610142633_1.thumb.jpg.e7e10891ece30e7e78fc74e05adfce79.jpg

    20210610142646_1.thumb.jpg.48634213525d69de37afeb453c0f6074.jpg

This FCS provides a clock-style compass for the turret orientation relative to the chassis on the top, as well as a turret inclination indicator on the right. At the bottom, the current date is displayed in YYYYMMDD format, followed by the bearings of where the turret and commander camera are looking. Finally, to the right of that, the currently ranged distance is displayed. At no magnification, the aiming reticle is a big circle, but the two levels of zoom provide a narrower, more precise reticle.

In order to correctly fire the gun:

    1. Aim the circle reticle at your target.
    2. Press “T” to range (or any button bound on the “Lase target” action).
    3. Wait for FCS to calculate corrections.
    4. Fire.

You do not need to readjust for each ammo type.

*This vehicle features ABM (Air Burst Munitions) for its Anti-Personnel shells. To use this feature, simply aim the gun above your target after it's ranged in. The rounds will explode mid-air once they reach the ranged distance.

**The Puma IFV’s Spike LR ATGMs have two different firing modes, direct and top down attack.
