FK June 2026 Bi-Weekly Update

Summary:

This week we have some updates to FK policy and some events coming up to share.

Community News:

• FK Arma 3 Standard Modset:
  • We are still working on an update to the FK Standard Modset and it should be expected in the next couple weeks.

Administration News:

• Changes to FK policy & Rules regarding politics written by: @Jerichron & @Deltabacon

Summary: 

For some time in FK, the discussion of politics and the dissemination of ideas through said discussion was/still is a welcome aspect in FK and should still be encouraged in appropriate conduct. That being said, the recent political climate across the western hemisphere and abroad has rapidly polarised discussions, resulting in heated and often outright hostile arguments, particularly in the FK Discord. Due to a lack of enforcement regarding these incidents and the inability of the staff team at this time to provide on-demand oversight and correction of these issues, it has become clear that reform is necessary to prevent future incidents of hostile political discourse on FK platforms and provide a safe and welcoming environment for current and new users as a predominantly gaming-oriented community. 

As a result of continuous incidents and reports occurring from a result of political discussion in the FK Discord and escalating actions taken on the part of those involved one week from today limitations will be placed on political discussion in FK and those rooms dedicated to the discussion of contemporary politics in the FK Discord will be removed and or archived until such time as the Staff team deems it acceptable for them to return.

Details:
The Following rooms in the FK Discord will be archived/removed.

• ukraine-and-russia.
• Leprosarium

russian-4chan. 

• The Discord room russian-4chan will be combed in a 2 week range and will have any and all posts which fall under the specified conditions below removed.

Explanation:
These rooms have been  a contentious part of the discord for a very significant amount of time. Over the last few years, each has been the primary generator of new player reports, complaints and has even led to discord reports being submitted without  the staff team being informed. 

In an increasingly polarized and unstable world, the staff team understands that issues often can bring out emotions and feelings that get expressed in often unhealthy ways and we would like FK to be a place where its members can talk with each other respectfully and without fear of discrimination or undue punishment for their interests or opinions. 

It is also true that moderation standards for said rooms have been relatively generous compared to the rest of the community, and as such there has been a significant amount of offenses committed that have gone unpunished, which likely would have led to punitive action outside of it.

Recognizing then;

• That political discussion as a trend, both globally and within FK is growing less civil and more as a means to express frustration and target perceived bad actors. 
• That moderation standards within FK have dropped as a result of our light-touch moderation of these rooms and a lack of adequate on demand staff requirements
• That community members have come to the staff team in private and voiced concerns or even suggested they’re no longer active in the community because of attitudes in specific FK hosted platforms
• That as a result of reports to discord directly without consultation of the Staff team or attempt of available FK Reporting methods  may cause FK to lose access to its own Discord and cause repercussions to the community as a whole.
• And that the FK has and always will be first a gaming community dedicated to the discussion of video games, personal hobbies, and interests with a focus on the Arma franchise 

It has been decided by vote that these rooms will be effective one week from the release of this report , be managed with more stringent moderation or with removal. By an almost-unanimous vote, the decision was made to remove these rooms and archive them or completely remove them..

What does this mean for political discussion moving forwards?

With the removal of the aforementioned rooms in the FK Discord, the following additions/changes are being made to FKs rule set. 

• 1#: The discussion of political topics as defined below is not permitted within the FK Discord, Forums, and hosted Servers (Excluding the FK Teamspeak) and will be treated as a category 2 offence as listed on FKs Ban Guidelines Page < > this may be escalated to category 3 for repeated offences and any violations in posts per the below examples will be removed from FK platforms where they were found.
  • Examples of Content:
    • Restricted:
      • National or international elections, politicians, or political parties.
      • Legislative policies (e.g., gun control, healthcare, abortion, immigration reform).
      • Ideological labels (e.g., “conservatives believe X,” “liberals are Y”).
      • Current geopolitical conflicts (wars, sanctions, diplomatic disputes).
    • Permitted:
      • Local, non-polarizing civic topics (e.g., “My local town council is building a new project I'm excited about”).
      • Historical political events without contemporary advocacy (e.g., “WWII started in 1939”).
      • Political mechanics in video games, fiction, or D&D campaigns.
      • Meta-discussion about this rule itself.
• #2: Political discussion is permitted in FK TeamSpeak channels only as a courtesy, not a right.
  • If any member in a voice channel says "I do not wish to hear politics right now" (or words to that effect):
  • The member who arrived later (more recent arrival) must leave the channel or change the topic.
  • The member who was already present (earlier arrival) may stay.
  • If both arrived at the same time, the party wishing to continue politics must move to another channel.
• #3: No new rooms for the purpose in full or in part for the discussion of political topics as specified in rule #2 may be created in the FK Discord or any other FK platform excluding the FK Teamspeak.

What happens next.

The specified rooms room will be archived and removed on the 28th of June at 12:00pm EST. 

Political discussion from that point onwards in the discord will be moderated with a less generous hand, and will constitute an infraction against those being introduced in addition to rules 7, 14, 15 or 16 of the FK general rules until the changes specified above take affect. 

Whilst there is a week’s ‘grace period’ until these changes take effect, we implore users to continue to follow the rules and conduct themselves with grace, and with respect for other users.
