Operation: Herat [Afghan National Army] Mission 02 of the Arid Annexation Campaign! Click HERE for the Campaign Thread Situation 3rd Combined Arms Battalion are leading the charge on the Afghani front into the Reshmann Province, with the town of Sa diyah in their sights. 2nd Brigade HQ wishes to use this town as a strategic base of operations for the region, so a swift capture is critical. Pushing down the north of Yaprak Lake, Alpha Rifles and Delta Armour are tasked with removing any force this side of the lake. Their plan is to set up in north west of Sa diyah to catch any QRF forces, whilst also blocking any retreat to the west. Bravo Rifles and Charlie Armour are pushing down the south of Yaprak Lake, and will encounter the majority of the resistance. Both Companies are tasked with capturing, and then defending Sa diyah from the south, as a Mechanised QRF is possible. 5th Fires Battalion were in play, and have already struck Sa diyah with a devestating BM-21 salvo. They are not available for any strikes due to risk of friendly fire. You will be playing as both Bravo Rifle Company, and 1st Platoon of Charlie Armour, both of 3rd Combined Arms Battalion. Due to the "Platoon" nature of our missions, this will be simulated as the players of Bravo Rifles playing as 1st Platoon, with 2nd and 3rd acting as respawn waves. The tank crew in Charlie Armour can be reinforced by the other platoon in their Company. "Crossroads" will be known as "Company HQ" of Bravo Rifles. For this mission, the tank crews will by tied to 1st Platoon through an RTO in the HQ element, as per normal mission layout. Current intelligence from the spotters of 5th Fires Bat. indicates that there are two companies defending Sa diyah and it's surroundings. The first company is standard infantry company, but the second is an armoured company, consisting on T-72B's. These are the same variant of tanks that we field, so we are evenly matched in all aspects. Additionally, movement has been spotted roughly 1-2km west of Sa diyah, as well as a Mechanised Company to the south of Sa diyah, in the town of Faaria. Primary Objectives Secure town of Sa diyah Eliminate all Iranian Equipment Gear and Equipment This mission will have HEAVILY restricted gear. Looting ammunition from fallen comrades or enemies is allowed, however you must never drop your issued rifle or other weapons. The general idea with the uniform and weapons is to look cohesive, but still have a "thrown together" style. Mix and match the options below. Helmet: [PO]PASGT (Spec4e | M81 #1 | M81 #2 | M81 #3) || PASGT (Woodland | Olive) || [PO]SSh-68 (ANA) Uniform: Battle Dress Uniform (Afghan/Spec4e/Desert | Afghan/Spec4e/Black) || Combat Uniform (Afghan/Spec4ceBlack | Afghan/Spec4ceTan) Vest: [PO]OTV (Olive | M81 | Spec4e) || [PO]GA OTV (Olive | M81 | Spec4e) Backpack: Any LR backpack that matches the uniform. Operation: Blue Falcon - SUCCESS [Iraqi Armed Forces] Mission 01 of the Arid Annexation Campaign! Click HERE for the Campaign Thread Situation As part of the opening push into the Reshmann Province, 1st Infantry Battalion have been ordered to capture the town of Kallista and hold all roads into the towns' surroundings. At this time, Bravo Rifles have pushed and now hold the town of Afaf, with Charlie Rifles beginning their initial assault on Kallista's surrounding infantry. Delta Weapons are to assist Charlie Rifles with the successful capture of Kallista, and the subsequent defence. Currently, Alpha Rifles are in reserve, with Battalion HQ in tow. 5th Fires are available for indirect fire missions in the region. Fire missions within 1km are considered danger close for both 2S1 and BM-21 salvos. You will be playing as the Delta Weapons Company of 1st Battalion. Due to the "Platoon" nature of our missions, this will be simulated as the players playing as 1st Platoon, with 2nd and 3rd acting as respawn waves. "Crossroads" will be known as "Company HQ" of Delta Weapons. It is believed that an entire Iranian Mechanised Company is defending the town of Kallista. 5th Fires' Target Acquisition Platoon's intel suggests that the Company is using BMP-1's as their primary vehicles. They recommend a fire mission or two for our new adversaries, but it is at your discretion. Additionally, infantry movement has been spotted roughly 1-2km east of Kallista, as well as occasional skirmishes with Bravo Rifles in the north east of the AO. Primary Objectives Secure town of Kallista Eliminate all Iranian Equipment Gear and Equipment This mission will have HEAVILY restricted gear. Looting ammunition from fallen comrades or enemies is allowed, however you must never drop your issued rifle or other weapons. 3. Welcome to the Arid Annexation Campaign! This campaign takes place on the Reshmann Province map, and concerns the armies of Iraq, Iran, and Afghanistan. Throughout this campaign, you will play as all three sides, trying to complete many different objectives. Some missions will be a cakewalk, others a bloodbath, and some with no hope of victory at all. No punches held. This post will contain a map relaying the current boundaries of each side, as well as general information on each sides' composition. Updates will be posted as comments below detailing each mission played. With this campaign, all three sides have ~2 Brigades worth of troops and equipment at their disposal, as well as various air assets that can be deployed from inside and outside the region, depending on the situation. All missions played will adhere to a master map that contains all the information on troop location and strength. Summary Iran is being invaded. The countries of Iraq and Afghanistan had made claims to the region after a collapse in the country’s political system. After the UN was unable to come to a consensus on how to handle the political struggles in the region, both countries invaded to annex their claims. However, the new “borders” set by Iraq and Afghanistan do not fit nicely together and overlap by almost 50km at the largest extent. Both countries have been openly hostile towards each other about their claims, and neither armies have been told to back down when they meet. The first point of expected contact is the Reshmann Province, with both sides a mere 20km from each other. Iran is not taking this fight sitting down and will fight until the last grain of sand in the region is conquered.
