Backstory

You are currently deployed within Altis as part of the 41st Infantry Company of the United States Army. For the past few months, you have been with Russian forces to bring down Altis insurgents. However, as of May 17, Russian forces are now considered hostile and forced U.S. forces to the East. Due to Russian preparation, they currently have air and naval supremacy forcing our ties to external support to be severed. Our main objective is to regain control of Altis. This will not be easy but if we manage our forces and work together, we will succeed.

WESTERN SITREP

MAP KEY

BLUE – American Controlled    RED – Russian Controlled

Squares – Dominant power in control of city, town, location, etc.

Dots – Represents the borders of either forces.

Organization & Equipment

Each Squad will be organized to contain: a Squad Leader, Grenadier (2iC), Combat Medic, an AR team, and three LAT Rifleman.

Assets

Ground Transport:

  • 2x M2 HUMVEE
  • 2x HUMVEE
  • 1x M2 MRAP

Armor:

  • 1x Abrams

Fire Support:

  • 1x M252 Mortar

Aircraft:

  • 1x UH-60 Black Hawk
  • 1x AH-6 Little Bird

If friendly armor or aircraft are destroyed, a replacement will be provided in 3 missions.

After each operation in enemy territory, all vehicles must be returned back to the starting location. If an asset is heavily damaged, you either can leave it or destroy it. Any asset abandoned within Russian controlled territory will count as a loss of the asset. Any asset left within U.S. controlled territory will be decommissioned for one mission.

Any Russian equipment that is captured during an operation will be available in the future. Russian equipment will not be replaced if lost.

Medical System

Instant death is not enabled, advanced wounds are enabled, and respawns are only available after certain requirements.

Consequences

Every operation has a possibility of being larger than the original place. Command (Crossroads) will advise if there is an opportunity to go past the main objective. For example, if an assault on a town occurs and the town is captured and a Russian officer is spotted in a nearby base, Platoon can choose to ignore or deal with the officer. Each action has various possible consequences in future missions. Additionally, Platoon has the ability to abandon an operation by retreating.

Reinforcements

During certain occasions, friendly forces may be called to assist. If the option for friendly reinforcements is available, Platoon will be informed by Command. Be aware, if reinforcements are called, there is a cooldown depending on casualties and size of reinforcements.

Missions will be added after this thread goes up. Remember, we’re what’s left defending Altis.

PLEASE LEAVE THE THREAD CLEAR OF REPLIES SO MISSIONS WILL BE EASIER TO FOLLOW.

OPERATION HAWK

UTC – 6:00:00
GRID – [144,130]

This an important assignment that just came in. Our UAV picked up images of a recent Russian artillery position that was established within the range of shelling Camp Hudson. This mission is simple: deal with the artillery position and get out. This mission will be conducted by the cover of night and no other assets outside of the UH-60 will be available. Russian reinforcements will be slow at reacting but expect heavy reinforcements if things drag on for too long. Remember that you must complete all PRIMARY objectives or the mission will count as a failure. SECONDARY objectives are not required to be completed.

DEBRIEF

The PRIMARY objectives were completed fully with only 1/3rd of the SECONDARY objectives being completed. The attack boats were destroyed and no Russians decided to surrender. The squad played a high price as the casualty rate was high and two respawn waves were utilized.

The data uploaded off the Russian officer’s tablet is currently being decrypted. Hopefully there is something of use on it.

Assets

  • N/A

Losses:

  • N/A

Reinforcements
Friendly forces attempted to assist with extraction once heavy Russian reinforcements arrived. UH-60 Blackhawk attempting to land was taken out by a Russian T-80. Friendlies resorted to arriving via speedboat.
Friendlies willing to support next mission.

OPERATION TORNADO

UTC – 12:30:00
GRID – [270,209]

Thanks to your finding of the officer’s tablet, it has been decrypted and provided us information about a Russian amphibious landing. Their goal is to force us to fight on two fronts as our front line is holding steady against their waves of assault. Due to the weather, all aircraft assets have been grounded with priority given to friendly CH-47 Chinooks to transport you to the front line before the storm gets worse.  Russian aircraft have also been grounded. The mission is simple: hold against the Russians.

All PRIMARY objectives must be completed. There are no SECONDARY objectives available at this time.

A good mortar position has been marked if the M252 is chosen to be deployed.

As you guys stated multiple times, I know this looks looks similar to Wattsits's own campaign thread and let me explain why. Before he created his thread, I had this campaign running during off-hours and when he created his own thread, I took inspiration and used it as a base. Originally it was nearly the same in formatting but over time I've evolved it away from looking like his thread and briefings and they basically now look different.

Now, before someone accuses me of the concept of damaged assets, returning them to base, etc... I had this idea in my mind before Wattsits even created his thread. The same applies to the idea I had about using "UAV Photos" and map briefings.

Final note: Like Katla stated, keep the shitposting out of here. Send me a PM if you have any questions.

OPERATION TORNADO

RESULT: SUCCESS

DEBRIEF

The PRIMARY objective was completed fully without any SECONDARY objectives assigned. Russian assault from the bay proved to be a bait to draw our forces away from the Molos airfield that the Russians captured along with the town of Molos. Molos was successfully cleared and held against the waves of Russians despite heavy losses forcing them to fallback at the airfield and regroup. This move was surely in favor of the Russians as we are now fighting a second front which makes things harder.

Assets

Gains:

  • Russian UAZ-5351
  • Russian BMD-1R

Both vehicles will be available in two missions.

Losses:

  • N/A

Reinforcements
Hades 1-1 and Hades 2-1 assisted in the recapture and defense of the town. Both squads full eliminated from heavy Russian contact.

Reinforcements unavailable for next mission.

OPERATION SLOTH

UTC – 12:30:00
GRID – [174,132]

Congratulations on the defense of Molos. This successful defense forced the Russians to regroup at the Molos Airfield while our own forces prepare for an assault to retake it before the Russians infest it. As a result, we’ve been tasked to a rescue operation. This will be your first operation against the Insurgents. You will be starting at the relocated Camp Hudson where you will gear up and move out to the locations where the workers are being held hostage. Rescue as many hostages as possible and try to keep their trucks intact. After securing the workers, you are to return them to the storage yard north of Charika. If any workers are injured, heal them to the best of your ability. If any are killed, body-bag them and return their bodies to Camp Hudson. There we identify them and return them to their families. While you are in the AO, keep an eye out for possible intel and take prisoners if possible.

All assets are available for selection. Russian UAZ and BMD will be available next mission.

All PRIMARY objectives must be completed. There are SECONDARY objectives available but not required to be completed.

One M2 Humvee was damaged but towed back to Camp Hudson for repairs. One Insurgent soldier was arrested by Charkia's police force causing us to lose possible intel we could of gathered. Insurgents are now aware of our might and know that they will not have an easy fight against us in the future.

OPERATION MAGGOT

UTC – 3:00:00
GRID – [144,130]

Sorry to wake you up this early but you have a new assignment which should stir up some memories. If you remember OPERATION HAWK which was a disaster but was surprisingly completed, we heavily damaged the Russian artillery base. The Russians decided to abandon the area and took most of their equipment with them. As we monitored the area, we noticed a few patrols remaining within the location to keep looters away but eventually they were pulled back so that area is now basically a shanty town. However, last night our scans picked up a massive amount of heat signatures and dispatched our UAV. We noticed that a BTR-60 was missing with new equipment in the location. Your job is to investigate the shanty town and report any findings. Take civilians prisoner if needed and try to question them. Your method of insertion is by boat. The company we assisted in OPERATION SLOTH gifted us with various boats to use. As you are within Russian controlled territory, you can’t let down your guard. Don’t forget there are Insurgents who would love to obtain any equipment they can find.

No assets available for selection.

All PRIMARY objectives must be completed. There are SECONDARY objectives available but not required to be completed.

Our UAV picked up this image at 22:55:38.

I like the idea but maybe you should have a mission that includes a naval strike group that actually takes off from the carrier to make the plot more spicy.

I'll consider it. However, the campaign is on hold. This is due to various issues in off-hour missions.

UPDATE: Campaign is now active. Will be looking for a time to host it in off-hours.
