  • There are 3 possible events you can create. Here they are and explained how:

    • Mission Planner: The mission planner is for Main Missions in either Prime Time. You have to follow this guide line for the requirements. These events also need approval by CMs.
    • Training Planner: The Training Planner is for Training events. If you are running a Training use this calendar.
    • Community Events: This is for games other than Arma 3 or special events in Arma 3 which take place during off hours. This includes reserving the server for you and your friends to play together.

If you do something on the Training Planner or the Community Event it is preferred that you either take the 2nd Server or make sure nothing else is running at the same time.

Overview
This training is aimed at people who are new to the FK. Doesn't matter if you're brand new to Arma or you have 500 hours under your belt but no experience with the mods we use.
Topics that will be covered:
How to join and make sure you can successfully join our servers What happens in the Main Mission and Off-hours rooms Slotting procedure and what happens in the spawn area ACE Arsenal - how to get yourself equipment you'll need ACE Interactions ACE Medical - Basic rifleman first aid Short Range Radio LAT introduction and overpressure BLUFOR vs OPFOR assets static showcase (if time allows) Rangefinding and working with map (if time allows) I also have two loadouts prepared for you, one for BLUFOR, one for OPFOR. They're meant as basic templates you can fall back to, change uniform and be ready to play.
The idea is that you will be able to go straight into a mission after the training and play as a rifleman.
This training does not earn you any tags or direct progress towards a Regular rank. But it will teach you how to play with us and therefore indirectly leads to both.
How to join
Please RSVP here and be at "Basic Training" room on TS at given time. We will be conducting this training on server 2.
Time in the calendar should be automatically adjusted to your own timezone, but just to make sure, this training will start at 1500 BST. Expect roughly 2 hours of time taken, the extra 20 minutes are there in case of delays and technical issues.
You're expected to have the mods from our modset downloaded via Steam. Also please install the TFAR plugin for your TeamSpeak, if you have any issues with it, come 10 minutes earlier so we can sort it out.
Current modset is here:
https://www.fkgaming.eu/documentation/joining-arma/
The best way of making sure you have exactly what you need is to click that "PRESET FILE" link, open your Arma 3 launcher, go to MODS section and import the file - it will auto-subscribe mods you need, start downloading them and create Mod Preset for FK. Then even if you're playing elsewhere and have hundreds of other mods you'll load only the correct ones.
Makes sure you have the April 2020 Modset
IP and password will be given to you before we join the server.

Rules on how to conduct yourself in an FK Arma mission:
Recommended reading
Most of what will be covered - still best to try it out yourself.
Recommended bindings and ACE settings - we will cover these during the training as well. This is contained up there ↑ too.
TFAR guide - will be covered to some extent, contains list of of radios for each faction.
Weapons Guide - What you can take and when.

INCOMING TRANSMISSION FROM CENTCOMM:
Hello! When most people hear Space Station 13, they usually think "oh it's too complex for me" or something along those lines. While it certainly has a steep learning curve, once the basics are learned you can create hilarious stories with others.
Ever wanted to explore space Star-Trek style and visit alien worlds? Do you enjoy light role-playing elements and betraying your friends? Are you into science? You'll be right at home here.
Most of the hurdles of learning the game stem from the fear of getting in other peoples' way during rounds and things of that nature, but I've recently figured out how to host a private build of a very excellent server. It'll be just us, the first few rounds will likely be just us messing around and getting new or returning players used to the game and how to work with the ship, and we can do some full-on RP rounds via the in-game text chat once people are more comfortable.

How to install the game:
This is gone over in more detail in the video embedded below, but in essence you'll need to install a client called BYOND in order to connect and play.
Download link is available here: http://www.byond.com/download/
Just install the package (no, it's not a virus it's just old) and after you've created an account and signed into the client, you'll be good to go.
Please either poke me with your BYOND username or put it here in the comments so I can whitelist you for the event. Please please send this to me in advance because I don't want to be whitelisting people for half an hour after we're supposed to have started.

Now then, with installation out of the way, I highly recommend you just skim through the wiki and take a look at the maps of the SEV Torch and the various jobs available.
The Torch is very large, with 6 decks and many different departments. Please take a minute or two to just glance these things over before the event starts.
Resources for the Ship and Jobs:
Map: https://wiki.baystation12.net/SEV_Torch Jobs: https://wiki.baystation12.net/Jobs Guides for new players (ignore the server-specific stuff and just look at character creation and onward: https://wiki.baystation12.net/Guide_for_New_Players  It would be advisable to keep the wiki open during the event as a reference

--SERVER INFORMATION WILL BE MADE AVAILABLE WHEN THE EVENT STARTS--
Please RSVP if you're interested so I have an idea on how many people will be here, and let's have a good time!

If anyone is interested in seeing gameplay or some background on the game, this video does a very good job at giving a well-rounded image of the game:

SITUATION:
2nd Febuary 2002
A fictional Russian Federation has grown increasingly aggressive, annexing land on several fronts. Seeking protection, Georgia has been granted emergency NATO membership. Tensions quickly increase as the world gets ever more polarised, culminating in several Russia-adjacent, NATO-allied countries launching aggressive invasions.
A NATO task force consisting of Canadian, British, and Israeli air and ground forces is deployed to assist in the Georgian push. With superior air support, Georgian ground forces successfully capture Sochi, and continue pushing north towards the outskirts of Krasnodar. However, Russia has been building up their ground forces, and manage to repel the siege on Krasnodar. In the following days, NATO forces are driven almost 80km south-east, losing control of Maykop-Khanskaya airbase and the city of Maykop.
BRIEFING:
After fierce fighting, the Russian Federation has pushed through and secured their position in the city of Maykop. As their forces begin to prepare Maykop-Khanskaya airbase for operations, severely weakened NATO ground forces begin falling back to regroup in the Caucasian mountains.
NATO AIRCOM is determined to deny the enemy another airbase and has ordered a anti-runway strike on Maykop-Khanskaya. Unfortunately an SA-11 battery has reached Belorechensk, just north-west of the airbase, and must be disabled before a safe strike can occur.
The Georgians will be dropping supplies for the retreating ground forces. We're low on both jets and weapons, so once the runway strike has been completed you'll act as Defensive Counter-Air to protect the transport aircraft performing the drop. You will be equipped with sparse A/A loadouts, so use those radios and co-ordinate your attacks.
TASKING:
- Disable or supress the SA-11, and destroy the runway at Maykop-Khanskaya.
A full flight plan (see included images) has been set up with ingress and target points for both flights. You don't need to follow it, but it's there if you need it.
You will have to use proper SEAD tactics to defeat the SAM; force the operator to turn the radar off by firing HARMs, then go in for the kill with AGM-65s.
- Protect Georgian Air Force transport aircraft while they perform their air drops.
Once the RUAF realises we aren't equipped for air superiority, they will likely send interceptors from the north. Make sure the Georgian transport aircraft are kept safe during their air-drop and until they are back in friendly SAM coverage.
Detailed threat & radio information will be available in the in-game briefing. Comm ladders will be configured for all aircraft.
There will be no aircraft respawns. Once you are dead, feel free to spectate.

Slots - 4x RCAF 409th Sqn. F/A-18C, 3x IAF 117th Sqn. F-16C, 1x LotATC AIC
This skin is recommended if you want the F-16s to have the right paint jobs.
DODGE-4 - F/A18C, SEAD/DEAD:
4-1 Flight Lead: @SABER
4-2 Wingman: @Glad1us
^ 2x AIM-9M, 2x AIM-120B, 2x AGM-88C.
4-3 Element Lead: @KingShibe
4-4 Wingman: @Thorimus
^ 2x AIM-9M, 2x AIM-120B,2x AGM-65F.

This will be an event covering basic Long-Range-Communications-Routine. If you have never touched a LR, this is for you. If you're still uncomfortable on the LR, this is for you. I'm aiming for these to be around two hours long, but depending on how many people there are and how quick we get through all the points, it may take less time.

We'll be going over the following points:
1. What is LR used for?
2. 69, 68, 67 and Short-Range Comms
3. How to setup your Long-Range-Radio
4. Phrases and Words
5. Comms etiquette
6. Practical Sessions
7. Additionals (this includes 6-Digit Grid references, SitReps and handling two channels at once)
8. Questions and Additions
9. 2nd Practical (If Time)

This training will talk about the operation and commonly used tactics in Heavy gunships.
Different kinds of heavy gunships and how to use them Apache like gunships Hind like gunships Scout and support gunships What loadout should you take during a mission. How to be effective with your given loadout. (Self-chosen or restricted by the mission.) Cannon Gun Missiles Radar Laser SACLOS / wire / beam-riding Heat-seeking Rockets Bombs What to plan while still on the ground. How to adjust your plan when the situation changes or new intel arrives. Communications and command hierarchy Inside the bird Between birds Between air and ground We will not actively talking on how to employ certain weapon types... Just how to be effective with them.
E.g. I will not explain how the different modes of the hellfire work in depth, but I will talk about how to use each mode effectively for a certain objective.

Due to the nature of heavy gunships requiring two crew members the signup will happen in those pairs. Please write a comment with which slot you would like to take part in as.
1-1 Pilot: @SAUCEGODISHALL 1-1 Gunner: @Monocled Badger 1-2 Pilot: @L00_Cyph3r 1-2 Gunner: @Beshman 1-3 Pilot: FREE 1-3 Gunner: @Snowmanhero FNG: Slot is still FREE for regular+ 1-4 Pilot: @sh4rdknight 1-4 Gunner: FREE 1-5 Pilot: @Marcu 1-5 Gunner: @Ventfarter @kMaN got no preference and gets the last available slot.

Signing up for a specific role doesn't mean you will have to do that role throughout the entire training. This is just so we can get the training started quicker. You are obviously allowed to switch throughout the training.
If all slots are filled and you are still interested please also leave a comment and I will most likely add more gunships!

Taking part in this training DOES NOT give you any priority during slotting.

RSVP Regulars have priority, FNG's may be able to join if there are not enough Regs+. If you are a FNG just write a comment that you would like to take part.
We are limiting the RSVP to 8 people but most of the time not everybody who RSVP'ed shows up. Feel free to just be there at the time and you probably will be able to get in. (This includes FNGs ... just be there on time and more often than not we will include you into the training.)

Be sensible, an amount of extreme fuckery (completely unnecessary or unrelated crashes, stupid delays due to not paying attention .etc.) will get you kicked out of the training, possibly even with a ban, and maybe even a ban from further trainings.

Would like to have another night of playing this.
This will start whenever first main ends for those wanting to do both (probably myself)
For those who have never seen or played this game before:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/945360/Among_Us/
It's basically a murder mystery game. Innocents (Crewmates) complete tasks and try and uncover who the Traitors (Imposters) are. Crewmates win by completing all the tasks or finding who the imposters are. Imposters win by killing almost all the crewmates.
We'll rotate through all the maps for a different experience and basically go as long as people have interest.
I'll be taking a shot every time Rabit snaps my neck

Operation Cartwheel, New Guinea, August 1943
After a few long years of fighting throughout SE Asia, we're on the offensive. We're slowly pushing through New Guinea and taking back land piece by piece. Your company is currently near the small hamlet of Biordi. Last night there was massed gunfire from A Platoon near the bridge. Since then we've heard nothing from them. Your orders are to advance and locate our boys, if any are still alive, and chase off any Japs still lingering. Get it done.

NEW: WE ARE NOW RUNNING BATTLE BUDDY SYSTEM!
Overview
This training is aimed at people who are new to the FK. Doesn't matter if you're brand new to Arma or you have 500 hours under your belt but no experience with the mods we use.
Topics that will be covered:
How to join and make sure you can successfully join our servers What happens in the FNG and Off-hours rooms Slotting procedure and what happens in the spawn area ACE Arsenal - how to get yourself equipment you'll need ACE Interactions ACE Medical - Basic rifleman first aid Short Range Radio LAT introduction and overpressure BLUFOR vs OPFOR assets static showcase (if time allows) Rangefinding and working with map (if time allows) I also have two loadouts prepared for you, one for BLUFOR, one for OPFOR.
Time in the calendar should be automatically adjusted to your own timezone, but just to make sure, this training will start at 1700 EST.
The best way of making sure you have exactly what you need is to click that "PRESET FILE" link, open your Arma 3 launcher, go to MODS section and import the file - it will auto-subscribe mods you need, start downloading them and create Mod Preset for FK. Then even if you're playing elsewhere and have hundreds of other mods you'll load only the correct ones.
IP and password will be given to you before we join the server.
